From 9 to 14 June 2013 some thirty members of the Canadian Province of Sulpicians gathered at Le Grand Séminaire de Montréal for a retreat preached by the Superior General of the Society of the Priests of Saint-Sulpice, Father Ronald D. WITHERUP. The theme of the retreat was "servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God" (1 Cor 4, 1). In addition to focusing on the letters of Saint Paul, the retreat also utilized many texts from Sulpician founder Jean-Jacques Olier and various magisterial documents on priesthood, the year of faith, and the new evangelization.
A highlight of the retreat was the concluding Mass celebrated in the chapel of the Sacred Heart at the Basilica of Notre Dame in Vieux Montréal. The provincial of the Canadian Province, Father Jacques D’ARCY presided and preached at the Mass, which was followed by a festive dinner that included the residents of the retirement home next door to the Basilica.
