Every year the Sulpician Seminary of Saint-Sulpice at Issy-les-Moulineaux sponsors a day for visitors called [Journée Portes Ouvertes (Visitation Day). It is an occasion for residents of Issy-les-Moulineaux and the region of Paris to come and get acquainted with this historic seminary and its current residents, the seminarians and formators.
This year, the visitation will take place on Saturday, 22 April 2017, from 2:30 to 9:00 PM. The seminary is found at 33 rue du Général Leclerc in Issy-les-Moulineaux (at the end of the Metro 12 line (Station Mairie d’Issy or Corentin Celton). In addition to tours of the facility, there are various other programs offered that explain the Roman Catholic priesthood and the program of priestly formation that is followed at the seminary. Some of the seminarians also offer personal testimonies of their vocation story, and there are activities for children and families as well.
The seminarians have prepared an ingenious, short video as an advertisement (a “teaser”). Although it is in French, even those who do not know French will enjoy the images. As a backdrop, the seminarians used the current French elections to emphasize their own “election” as future priests. You can access the video here or through the French Province website.
If you are in the Paris area on April 22 and want to know more about this Sulpician seminary, drop by for a visit and get to know some of the future priests of France!
